Nora Smith

I teach Vinyasa/Flow and Yin classes. Both classes can be adapted to suit a wide variety of body needs and abilities. I have extra mats and always have props on hands.

Vinyasa class focuses on breath initiated movement, transitioning from one posture to another, holding the position for a few breaths and moving to the next. These classes will challenge the muscle strength and increase muscle and joint flexibility. We slowly stretch and cool for the final 15/20 minutes of class.

Yin is much more still. Making time to quiet the mind through long, supported holds in postures can be more accessible physically, and sometimes takes on a great mental challenge. The long holds move into deep tissue and allow for your body’s fluids to flow with less restriction through the joints and ligaments.

I’m am always learning and a student of yoga with an E-RYT 500 certification through Yoga Alliance.

Into the Light Healing Arts

Hello, and welcome to Shelter Cove. I would love to put my hands on you! I have been in private practice since 2002, and in 2008 I met my teacher John F. Barnes and have been practicing his myofascial release approach exclusively since then. Myofascial Release benefits your body, your mind and your spirit through dissolving restrictions in your fascial system. At Into the Light Healing Arts, you may take additional time for relaxation and integration with an ocean view hot tub and/or sauna experience!
